Is Joy your superpower?
The joy of the Lord is our strength.
Nehemiah 8:10 is one of the foundation scriptures for my life. Having joy is not like being happy. Joy requires we have a loving relationship with Jesus; he is the only source of joy. When our daughter, and my sisters, were young, I taught them the acronym J.O.Y. Which is Jesus, Others, and yourself serving an invisible God and others before yourself requires faith and selflessness. Happiness can, in many cases, be self-centered and self-serving. Happiness is an experience when everything is going as planned and centered on human emotions.
Joy, like life, is a journey; happiness is a destination. With all the ups and downs in life, we need inner strength, not an emotional high.
We all need relationships with God, ourselves, and others.
The power of God is his love, and joy is the energy that God grants us to exchange with each other in relationships.
Joy is the foundation of everything meaningful, and that endures. Today if you were packing a bag and could only add one element, I would recommend joy. Joy will make your journey more meaningful and enjoyable to all the people you meet along the way.
I challenge you to choose joy, trust joy, love with joy, gain your strength in relationships by the level of joy you share.
Supercharge your relationships with joy!
10 Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
